After pages came to life thanks to flow charts and functions became clear with the help of a loud and colorful open discussion over here at the User Experience bunker of Startup Weekend Israel, we were superbly stoked to introduce the look and feel of our group project - our new company!

The real icing on the cake? Our newborn has a name - Tribiu, a derivative of the Latin tribuo, meaning "to bestow" or "give". The name was chosen by our feisty marketing team, and deemed a sweet match for a platform dedicated to spreading the exchange of skills and services, where time is a valuable gift to be swapped. After splitting up into our respective teams, we are all racing against time and natural logic in order to build Tribio as we envision it. For me at least, it has been a very fun experience to design user experience as a part of a team on fast-forward. Coming mostly from the content and user-related feature end over at 5min, this is certainly a break from the ordinary and a move into new territory, even though the SUW experience is not as thorough and detailed as my day-to-day work.

Not to mention working closely with people who I met just yesterday - wow! When we were presenting our ideas to the other participants, and my idea was selected as one of the ideas to be presented to the entire forum, it suddenly dawned on me just how hard my boss has to work in order to pitch our company's idea, vision and product whenever he's off to another meeting or convention. Standing in front of a crowd of complete strangers, it becomes ridiculously clear that you either have it or you don't - my general feeling is that if you can't present an idea in under a couple of minutes and make it totally memorable, absolutely smashing and above all - CLEAR - you probably don't stand a chance.

After a long evening of the too-familiar battles of thought between biz dev and the user experience team, we'd sat down to put the finishing touches on our usability designs. Whew! Can you say "hard work"? But VERY fun.

In fact, it was a real challenge to actually disconnect my laptop, rip my iPhone out mid-sync, pack up and go home as the night came to a close. Can't wait to dive back into work today.
